Darren commenced his career with the company in 1981 as a trainee valuer, and, with great enthusiasm and interest followed the career path that led from the Sales Room floor to his current position of Managing Director and Equity Partner.
Darren has been directly involved with the implementation and development of Obsolete and Disposal procedures as first introduced by company founder and fellow partner Max Broughton for Mt Newman Mining Co (BHPB) in 1978.
Darren has spent years assisting clients directly in the Pilbara with their Obsolete Asset Management - visiting operational sites and providing asset valuation and sales advice as well as recommendations on procedural efficiencies and pertinent cost of handling verses sale return analysis.
Darren and the Smith Broughton team continue to operate with a hands-on approach and enthusiastically spend their time out in the field. This business approach ensures they can effectively assist clients implement sale strategies that best suit their individual circumstances.

With his extensive management experience, career achievements and experience in buying and remarketing Heavy Mobile Equipment globally, Eddie is a pivotal member of the Smith Broughton team.
In his role of Heavy Equipment Manager Eddie is responsible for the management of company mining and resources contracts throughout Australia South East Asia and PNG.
After 30 years in the mining industry, Doug Callaway has earned his stripes in all facets of obsolete asset disposals. From his long spanning career in this industry sector Doug has extensive knowledge in warehousing, inventory control, purchasing, contracts, logistics, transport and asset disposals.
This knowledge and skill enables Doug to understand the needs of clients and effectively coordinate the best solutions.

With more than 28 years of experience with Heavy Mobile Equipment, James joined Smith Broughton in 2001.
As a qualified diesel fitter James has worked in numerous remote locations throughout the North West of WA and spent ten years on the Pilbara's Burrup Peninsula. James also spent 7 years running his own business as a heavy equipment detailer and equipment contractor.
With his wealth of experience James has a thorough understanding of the operational and maintenance issues faced by earthmoving contractors. He understands heavy mobile equipment and trucks not only from a mechanical viewpoint but also in terms of the prevailing market supply and demand issues that strongly influence equipment valuations and saleability.
James is a valued member of the Smith Broughton team and proudly conducts himself to a personal motto of "there are no problems only solutions".
Responsible for Light Vehicle Valuations and Sales, Jules is a senior auctioneer with Smith Broughton & Sons.
Having joined the company in 1983 as trainee auctioneer & valuer, Jules skills and expertise have continued to flourish and lead him to a senior position within Smith Broughton. His twenty three year history with the company has earned him the title of being one of the most experienced light vehicle, mobile plant and industrial equipment auctioneers in Australia.
His long industry association, as well as his qualifications as a motor mechanic means that Jules truly is an expert in the field.
Jules has extensive experience in managing the logistics of on site auction sales, particularly in the North West and Goldfields regions as well as holding key responsibilities for coordinating all MVDL compliance matters.

Cory has worked in mining and logistics for 6 Years and has wide experience in transport logistics and farming. Cory is responsible for on-highway and earthmoving equipment sales, auction preparation and vendor relations.
Jeremy Stone Sales Administration/Marketing/Licensing
Jeremy's key responsibility is maintaining the company data base in all facets of consignment stock control. Jeremy also works to ensure compliance with all motor vehicle licensing is met as well as coordinating marketing and promotional activity for the company.
With 10 years experience in the auction industry Brian has specialist skills in the areas of civil construction and transport. Brian looks after all auction logistics including yard and auction preparation, civil maintenance and vendor relations.
As a qualified chartered accountant with over 30 years experience in external audit, IT procurement and accounts management, Tony heads up the company's Administration and Accounting functions.
With over 23 years Auction Industry experience Diana is a wealth of knowledge in all facets of Administration, Bookkeeping and Stock control functions.
Patricia coordinates all clerical functions and buyer relations, general reception duties as well as the company's accounts receivable & payable ledger.
